Wallasey CRC
Two boats. Two very different ways to get on the water.
Coastal Sliding Seat Pair
Currently Being RefurbishedCoastal sliding seat sculling pair · 7 metres · 2 rowers
The Kursaal Flyer is a sleek coastal sliding seat pair — a very different beast to a traditional fixed-seat rowing boat. Named after the famous Kursaal funfair in Southend-on-Sea, she's a proper racing machine designed for speed on open water, with both rowers sculling using two oars each.
Currently undergoing refurbishment, she's likely to get a fresh coat of paint and possibly a new name before she takes to the Mersey. If you'd like to be part of her story — and have your name on her hull — take a look at our boat naming sponsorship.
Sliding seat coastal rowing is a growing discipline within the sport, and having this boat in the fleet means Wallasey CRC can offer members an experience beyond traditional fixed-seat rowing.
Traditional Coastal Rowing Boat
Arriving April 2026Pembrokeshire Longboat · 24.5 feet · Up to 6 rowers
Our first proper club boat — a Pembrokeshire Longboat, the forerunner to the Celtic Longboat and one of the classic designs of traditional coastal rowing. She carries up to six rowers on fixed seats and is the kind of boat that will get the majority of our members on the water from day one.
She arrives in April 2026 and our first club session is planned for the May Day bank holiday. Built for open water, she's seaworthy, stable and perfectly suited to the Mersey Estuary and Liverpool Bay.
She doesn't have a name yet — and that's where you come in. We're offering naming rights to a founding sponsor who wants to be part of the club's story from the very beginning. Your name on the hull, on the water, from day one.
Sponsorship Opportunity
Both boats in the Wallasey CRC fleet are currently unnamed — and we're offering founding sponsors the opportunity to put their name on the hull. It's a unique chance to be permanently associated with the club's story from the very beginning.
Boat naming rights are a visible, lasting form of sponsorship. Every row, every race, every photo — your name is there.
Our first club boat, arriving April 2026 and launching on May Day. Name her and she carries your legacy every time she takes to the Mersey. The highest visibility naming opportunity we have — this is the boat that will get the most time on the water.
Our coastal sliding seat pair is heading for a full refurbishment — new paint, new look, and potentially a new name. A chance to put your name on a sleek racing machine and be part of a growing discipline within coastal rowing.
Naming rights are available to individuals and businesses. Get in touch to have a conversation about what works for you — there's no fixed price list, just an honest discussion about whether we're a good fit.
